This strip is based on an elderly woman who waits outdoors almost everyday for the HandyDART. In the rain, and in the snow she waits for the shared-ride service for people with disabilities to show up. One cold day I asked her, "Why don't you wait inside the lobby of the building?" She replied, "I'm afraid the driver won't see me and I might miss the HandyDART."
